1:30pm – 2:00pm | Role of the Superintendent | A superintendent must wear many hats on the project and each hat is important. An overview of the superintendent’s role with respect to each hat will be discussed amoungst the group. |
2:00pm – 4:00pm | Excellence in Safety | Safety presentations are often boring, but Captain Safey presents the role of the superintendent in a manner that is impactful and meanful to the listener. The critical responsibilty the superintendent has on the site will be discussed. |
4:00pm – 5:00pm | Internal and External Communications; Documentation and Claims | Defending a claim or a lawsuit requires excellent documentation from the field. The superintendent’s role to protect the company will be discussed using real world examples. |
5:00pm – 5:30pm | Time Management | Choosing which task to undertake during the day can be daunting; a visual example will be provided to help prioritize tasks in a given day. |

Drilling Techniques This session will cover the various drilling techniques associated with anchors, soil nails and micropile installation. The preferred geology for each drilling technique will be presented and the pros cons associated with each method. |

Concrete: Casing Extracting, Tremie Placement, Free Fall, Pump Trucks, Mix Disigns, Admixtures The varied drilling methods requires modifications to concrete placement; experienced contractors will discuss the carious aspects associated with each method of contrete placement. An open discussion will be facilitated to allow participants to learn from their peers. |
Grout Placement Presented during this session will be grout placement which includes tremie, pressure and post-grouting. Also covered will beelement installatio, including casing, center bar(s), and post-grout tubes. |

Non-Destructive Testing: CSL, TIP, Gamma Gamma, Dynamic Testing, Load Cells Don’t shoot yourself in the foot by making common mistakes associated with non-destructive testing. The presenter will provide real world examples of common mistakes and ways to improve your test results. |
Load Testing You will learn during this session, the safe setup and performance of testing for micropiles, soil nails and anchors. Discussion on the interpretation of test results compared to the various criteria specified within the industry. |

Slurry Industry experts will provide a detailed discussion of proper usage of polymer and bentonite slurries. As well as discuss common mistakes they have witnessed and ways to avoide those mistakes. |
Anchored Earth Retention Walls During this session, various temporary and permanent achored earth retention walls will be presented. You will also learn about ideal ground conditions for each type of wall, and the pros and cons associated with each type. |
