About the Committee
The Micropile Committee is a joint committee comprised of members from both the ADSC-IAFD and the Deep Foundations Institute (DFI), and is comprised of interested engineering professionals dedicated to providing
primary assistance in the writing of applicable specifications
review, commentary and formal acceptance of design and construction specifications
a network of industry professionals to perform research necessary for the advancement of Micropile technologies
Mission
Through the cooperation with, and the direction of, the International Society for (ISM), and the use of education, training, seminars, research, specifications, and other means, this committee will work with owners, both private and public, contractors, engineers, and suppliers to increase the use, understanding, quality and economy of Micropile systems as defined by the joint committee.
Goals
Continue sponsorship and execution of two industry educational seminars each year
Promote the use of micropile design and construction by delivering product presentations to Geotechnical and Structural Engineers, Departments of Transportation, Municipalities, Contractors, Professors, and Students
Review, comment, and participate in the preparation of technical papers, specifications, and industry guidelines, as the needs arise
Canvas the committee membership to investigate future research activities/needs that may be suitable to recommend to the IASC (Industry Advancement Steering Committee)
Develop a generic database of load test and non-destructive testing information
Periodically review and restate the membership guidelines and committee expectations
Work closely with related trade association committees and collaborating agencies (e.g., AASHTO, FHWA, Geo-Institute, DFI) to insure the interests of ADSC-IAFD members are best served

The Micropile Committee meetings occur four times a year at the Annual Meeting, Spring Board Meeting, Summer Meeting, and Fall Board Meeting.
