Education

Mission

The mission of the Education Committee is to educate our members, customers and associated external groups on the proper design, construction, and application of anchored earth retention systems, drilled shafts, micropiling, and other related technologies, as endorsed by the ADSC-IAFD. Through these educational programs, we will ensure that the highest quality construction standards and safe operations are maintained while striving to foster and ensure confidence in the continued and future use of these products.

Goals

  • Maintain communication with other ADSC committees to understand, promote, and support their needs for and with educational programs
  • Oversee and make recommendations to the Board of Directors for educational programs, including those conducted at our board meeting functions, which will attract attendees and will address the relevant topics of the time
  • Support all educational programs, once scheduled, with the development of the topics, the selection of the instructors, the solicitation for sponsors, the program promotion for attendees; and to further assist by making recommendations and support the ADSC staff
  • In each ADSC Regional Chapter, identify and work with an education representative to familiarize him/her with their chapter’s educational needs and to also have him/her assist with the promotion and support of the national education programs in that chapter’s region
  • Create task force groups, as needed, to re-evaluate and constructively critique current ADSC educational programs for relevancy and effectiveness of topic, geographic location, frequency of program offerings, and budgetary requirement purposes
  • Actively solicit and present suggestions from ADSC members to the Education Committee about opportunities and avenues that could be used to familiarize, educate, and promote to the design, construction, engineering, and academic communities about the products represented by the ADSC-IAFD
